Paralegal
Kate R. Carnes
Kate R. Carnes has been part of Logan & Logan LLP since the very beginning. Having joined the firm when it first opened its doors, Kate has grown alongside the practice and has become an essential part of the Logan & Logan team. As the firm’s paralegal, she plays an important role in nearly every stage of the client experience—from helping organize a new estate planning matter to preparing documents, coordinating signings, and making sure all of the details are taken care of along the way.
Clients quickly come to know Kate as warm, dependable, and exceptionally organized. Estate planning can involve a lot of moving pieces, and Kate has a talent for keeping those pieces organized while making the process feel approachable for clients. She supports the firm’s estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters and helps ensure that clients know what comes next and that matters continue moving forward efficiently.
Behind the scenes, Kate is one of the people who keeps Logan & Logan running. She assists with the preparation and organization of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, deeds, probate filings, and trust administration documents. She coordinates client communications and signing appointments, maintains client files, tracks outstanding items and deadlines, and works closely with the attorneys and staff at the firm to move matters from the initial planning stages through completion.
Kate is also the firm’s resident numbers guru. She has a natural ability to work with numbers and detailed financial information—an especially valuable skill in an estate planning practice, where asset values, account information, beneficiary allocations, estate inventories, and financial records are often an important part of the planning and administration process. Her combination of attention to detail, analytical ability, and comfort with numbers makes her an invaluable resource to the entire firm.
Just as importantly, Kate understands that behind every file is a family. She brings patience, kindness, and a genuine willingness to help to her interactions with clients. Whether she is answering a question, helping a client prepare for a signing, tracking down a missing piece of information, or making sure a document package is complete, Kate takes pride in making the process easier for everyone involved.
A South Shore native, Kate is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree at New York University, where she is working toward a Bachelor of Arts. She is also a member of NYU’s cross country and track teams, balancing collegiate athletics and academics with her work at Logan & Logan. The discipline, time management, and determination required to balance all three are qualities she brings to her work at the firm every day.
Kate is also a Massachusetts Notary Public and regularly assists with the proper execution and notarization of estate planning and other legal documents.
Having Kate with Logan & Logan since its earliest days has made her an important part of the firm’s foundation and growth. She is more than the firm’s paralegal—she is a trusted colleague, a familiar face to clients, and an integral part of the Logan & Logan team. Her reliability, attention to detail, aptitude with numbers, work ethic, and genuine commitment to the firm’s clients make her indispensable to the practice.
