Ruth C. Logan, Esq.

Email: rlogan@loganloganllp.com

As an experienced family law attorney with a career spanning more than 30 years, Ruth has a deep-rooted passion for protecting the relationships, finances, homes, and businesses of the families she represents. Originally from New Jersey, Ruth began her legal career in New York at Brooklyn Law School; however, family and life brought her out to Texas where she practiced for many years, even serving as a Municipal Judge for over a decade.  When her daughter applied to law school in Boston, Ruth took the opportunity to return to her roots and returned to the East Coast herself, joining the Massachusetts bar to continue her practice.

Ruth brings a unique level of empathy and understanding to her clients’ struggles and is committed to helping people navigate through what is unarguably one of the most difficult chapters of their lives as seamlessly and successfully as possible while ensuring a solution that is tailored to meet the needs of each individual client.

Ruth offers clients the experience and skill that only come from years of practicing family law. Having served as a Municipal Judge for over a decade, Ruth is the complete family lawyer, one of the few family law attorneys with extensive experience from the beginning of a case, through trial or settlement to the handling of an appeal. Because of her range of talents, she is called upon to handle trials and appeals throughout Massachusetts.

Ruth’s straightforward approach is particularly invaluable in handling high net worth divorces entangled in complex financial matters. Individuals with significant assets require an attorney who can effectively mitigate risks and ensure an equitable distribution of assets. Ruth not only provides clients with precise guidance on the necessary steps to achieve optimal outcomes but also understands the emotional toll that such situations can take.

Ruth’s approach to divorce is distinguished by her unwavering dedication to guiding clients through the process with minimal harm to themselves, their children, and even their former spouse. Throughout every step, she delivers honest and effective guidance, striving to secure the best possible outcome for the entire family.

While she is not afraid to engage in a legal fight when necessary, Ruth actively works to minimize conflict, understanding the importance of protecting children from being caught in the midst of adult disputes.

Ruth is a master litigator, however she also has a keen eye for creative solutions that keep clients out of court. Ruth is known as an excellent negotiator who strives to work through impasses to achieve successful resolutions. Her goal is to reach an agreement that is favorable to her clients, whether through trial, settlement conferences, or mediation.

Ruth is committed to protecting her clients and their children during the battle of divorce, property division and custody disputes with the goal of them concluding the process better off than when they first walked in her door. She tenaciously represents her clients with honesty, integrity and empathy.

Originally from the East Coast, Ruth graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1987. She received her B.A. in History and Spanish Literature from Cornell College in 1982. Ruth is fluent in Spanish and English. She lives in Newton and outside of the courtroom her hobbies include entertaining, reading, traveling, baking/cooking, fencing, and playing tennis.
